Book Launch - A Proper Fit: Women at Work in a City of Corsets
Join us to celebrate the completion of a six-year project, a history of the corset industry in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Learn about the many women who powered the city's globally reaching corset industry (1860-1980). Join author Anne Marie Murphy for a celebration of this intriguing garment and hear the stories of the women in Worcester who made them, from one-woman shop "corsetieres" to a factory owner. Anne will read from her book and share her collection of unique historic images.
