Description

Booth’s contributions to Worcester were many. Back in his Gazette days he had helped start the city’s parks and playground movement. He drove the first golf ball at the new Green Hill golf course. He was one of the prime movers in establishing the Community Chest. In 1927, he and Harry Stoddard donated $5,000 to a fund to build a new Memorial Auditorium. He became known as “Mr. Worcester,” interested in city, state and national affairs right to the end.
