Salisbury Mansion: Re-purposing History

Salisbury Mansion: Re-purposing History

April 11, 2013 - May 4, 2013

In the Fall of 2012, Worcester Historical Museum posed a “what if” to Becker College Interior Design students asking them to take on challenge of re-purposing a historical space for contemporary residential use.  The space in question was Salisbury Mansion. Students were asked to use existing historical aesthetics – architecture, patterns, textiles or furniture – as the bases for a design that would re-purpose the historic house from a house-museum to residential space for a modern family. The design concepts will be on exhibit at Salisbury Mansion through May 05, 2013. Salisbury Mansion is Worcester’s only historic house museum.
