Docent Training Program
Volunteers are an important part of Worcester Historical
Museum's staff. In addition to leading tours and programs, docents have a
unique opportunity to help interpret Worcester's past to visitors from all
over the world.
Worcester Historical Museum is the only institution that collects, preserves, researches, and interprets Worcester's history in all time periods. Worcester's story is one of individual achievement, industrial accomplishment, and community progress.
Salisbury Mansion, owned and operated by the museum since 1984, was the home of a prominent and influential Worcester family. Restored to its 1830 appearance, Salisbury Mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of the best documented houses in New England.
