Worcester Historical Museum welcomes you Home for the Holidays  and invites you to celebrate this special time at the museum and Salisbury Mansion. Join us for festive live concerts, lavish decorations at Salisbury Mansion, kids programs, tours, and more. All programs are free with  museum admission unless otherwise noted.

A Crooner’s Christmas with the Dale LePage Trio

Thursday, December 5 at 7:00 PM

Swing into the holiday season with the multi-award winning Dale LePage Trio, as Worcester Historical Museum invites you Home for the Holidays with a Crooner Christmas. Enjoy and evening of music and laughter with a mix of holiday favorites, American Songbook classics, and some toe tapping originals. This concert is sure to be a great way to start off the holidays off right.

Worcester Historical Museum and Music Worcester, Inc. invite you to enjoy a night of music as pianist David Kaplan, whose talents the New York Times praised for striking imagination and creativity, and cellist Ben Capps perform work by Mendelssohn and Brahms in a special concert to help raise awareness and fight hunger in our community this holiday season. All proceeds from the concert will go to the Worcester County Food Bank. Canned and dry food stuffs will also be accepted.

Music for Food is a Boston-based musician-led initiation to fight hunger in our home communities. To learn more visit musicforfoodboston.org.

Fridays, December 6-27 from 4:30 PM-6:30 PM

Experience the wonder of the holiday season with  decorations evocative of 1960s and 1860s throughout the period rooms of Salisbury Mansion. See the various ways the holidays have been celebrated throughout the decades as you tour Salisbury Mansion by candlelight. Bring the family for an evening you won’t forget!

Thursday, December 19 from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM and 7:00 PM-8:00 PM

Share your memories of local holiday traditions with WHM. Bring in your photos from holidays past and let our staff scan them and return them to you. Your City. Your History. Your Holiday.

Teddy Bear Tea

Saturday, December 7 from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM

Bring your favorite stuffed-friend for a day of holiday fun the whole family can enjoy with a performance by the Pumpernickel Puppet Players, a teddy bear checkup with Nurse Michelle from Fallon Community Health Plan in our Teddy Bear Clinic, arts and crafts, games, and more! Registration is required, call 508.753.8278

Kids Crafternoons: Wrapping-paper Beads

Friday, December 27 at 11:00 AM

Take a break from all the new stuff you got for the holidays and put that extra wrapping-paper to a new use. We are making beads with it!  You may bring your own paper if you want, but some will be provided.

Kids Crafternoons: New Year’s Crown

Tuesday, December 31 at 11:00 AM

2013 is coming to an end. While we love history, we are looking forward to starting a new year and seeing what is in store for our great city. Come by and make a crown and ring in 2014 in style then stay to play in the Alden Family Gallery.
